PWA

Along with its main teaching activities, MIEX includes an articulated set of hands on training experiences where students have a chance to put into practice the knowledge and skills they developed in class and gain first-hand access to the international business world. In the MIEX environment the on-field training activities go under the acronym of PWA, which stands for Practical Work Activities.

The Practical Work Activities are designed and tailored according to the MIEX requirements and include the following:

INTERNSHIP: dedicated to Fast Track Students
FIELD WORK RESEARCH – FW: dedicated to Master Level students during Study Year 1
PROJECT WORK – PW: dedicated to Master Level students during Study Year 2

Students may count on having an impressive network of partner firms eager to offer PWA opportunities. Proactive student input and initiative in raising and negotiating PWA is truly appreciated and pivotal to optimizing the matching process. As a matter of fact, negotiation, definition and agreement on PWA contents, scope and program involve 3 parties: MIEX Teams, MIEX Students and partner firms. Some of the key criteria used in the matching process are: prior competence and skills, knowledge of foreign language, interests, vocations, ambitions and the student’s proven commitment throughout the program.
Each of the PWA must include a written essay on the field-work carried out and a final presentation. This phase will be evaluated and graded; upon successful completion, the student will earn the related ECTS credits.
