Hack 4 Food |To Feed the Future Event

It is with great pleasure to share with our MIEX Community Hack 4 Food |To Feed the Future hackathon hosted by Future Food Institute (FFI) in Bologna. Now more than ever it is vital to inspire and cultivate innovation, and what better way than with an (online) gathering of great minds!  

FFI, in partnership with eminent industry leaders and Italian government agencies in the agri-food sector, will host an online hackathon, to bring together university students, researchers and start-uppers with the aim of developing innovative ideas using digital technologies to respond to agri-food challenges that have emerged as a result of COVID-19, focusing specifically on the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. 

The Challenges:

The hackathon will promote the cross-fertilization of ideas to respond to three challenges faced today by the agri-sector, with concrete solutions and high-potential innovation projects focused on:  

- Efficiency, transparency, traceability of food supply chains for safe and quality foods; 

- Prevention of waste in the agri-food chain;

- Management of food surpluses for the benefit of the most vulnerable members of society.  

The online hackathon will be held on Friday October 9 and Saturday October 10, 2020 on Zoom and will be in Italian.

Winning project will be awarded 5,000 Euros to develop their ideas into action.
